Society of New Jersey Artists

The intention of my work is to convey feelings about a subject seen. If a view or object makes my heart beat a little faster, I’m inspired to paint it. I am interested in still life, but in a way that questions perspective and context. Figs and peaches make lovely, still subject models.

My paintings are often inspired by the evolving sky, land and sea views here in southern New Jersey, using layered acrylic and mixed media gestures and marks to explore scale, color and texture, I can only hope that the viewer shares a similar visceral response.
